Richard Lee Parker, AIA, LEED Accredited Professional, Principal
Richard has more than 20 years experience as a licensed architect
providing comprehensive architectural design services. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors for the American Institute of Architects
San Francisco Chapter (AIA SF) and is chairman of its Small Business
Committee, which represents more than 75 architectural firms. Richard
has organized several seminars for AIA SF on sustainable building
practices that include building demolition recycling, green building
materials, and ecologically harvested building materials. He serves on
the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Small Business Network,
which represents more than 35,000 employees in 19 public, private,
and civic organizations. Richard has extensive experience leading
neighborhood community design workshops and has received numerous
awards for excellence in architectural and lighting designs. He
curated Metropolis magazine's Designing Worlds Sustainable Design
Competition, held in San Francisco in 2001, which featured Robert
Kennedy Jr., Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown, and architect William McDonough.
Richard volunteers his time and knowledge with non-profit groups,
and he mentors young architects. Recent public projects include Argonne
Child Development Center, Walter Haas Park, Scotts Valley Fire station #3,
and Santa Cruz City Hall renovations.
David Allen Bushnell, AIA, LEED Accredited Professional, Principal
Mr. Bushnell has practiced architecture in San Francisco, New York, Seattle
and Switzerland for over 20 years. Prior to founding 450 architects, David
has been responsible for the design and construction administration for a
variety of projects, including: educational, institutional, industrial and
commercial buildings, housing, large and small scale renovations, and the
seismic upgrade of unreinforced masonry buildings. His work as project
architect and designer have included several award winning projects,
including the SFUSD Argonne Child Development Center and James Lick Middle
School with 450 architects, Queens Borough Public Library and Nassau
Community College with Polshek & Partners, commercial office buildings with
Kohn Pedersen Fox, the Hawaii Convention Center with LMN, and several
housing projects in Switzerland. In addition to his architectural practice
Mr. Bushnell is involved with advocating sustainable design, has served as a
visiting critic and lecturer at several universities, and has taught design
at the Swiss Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. David Hunter, Senior Designer
Mr. Hunter has worked for prominent and award-winning international architects. He brings his worldly view of architecture, sense of place, and attention to detail to all phases of architecture. David has developed a keen eye for appropriate scale and use of materials to create memorable spaces. Currently David is leading the construction document and detailing team for the San Francisco Waldorf High School project.
Josh Lowe, LEED Accredited Professional, Senior Designer
Mr. Lowe contributes great green building experience to 450 Architects. He has experience in both schematic green building design and LEED project management. Josh Lowe is a designer with 450 Architects, Inc., a nationally recognized architecture firm focusing solely on green architecture. The firm has designed many recognized green projects, including the first school in Northern California slated for LEED Gold certification. Mr. Lowe focuses on the practical application of sustainable design and construction strategies at scales from residents to multi-million dollar institutional projects. Before turning to architecture Josh owned his own general contracting business, developing a practical sense for construction management, pricing and contracting. Mr. Lowe is a LEED Accredited professional and has a Green Builders Certificate from the USGBC and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree with a minor in Botany from Roger Williams University.
Cody Meeks, Designer
Mr. Meeks brings a variety of experience and points of view to 450 Architects. He has worked in the fields of architecture, design, and construction in working on projects ranging from large, high-end institutional work for the Philadelphia Museum of Art to a small straw bale cabin in rural Texas. A capable and detail oriented team member, Cody facilitates the process of design and construction administration creatively and efficiently. He is committed to social responsibility and green building and recently worked with community groups and University of Texas students on community art projects and in the development of a non-profit company that supports the East Austin community. He is currently seeking LEED accreditation.
